Can anyone recommend a good dash cam setup that provides 360 coverage, with an integrated screen that doubles as a backup camera and a GPS navigation map? Thanks!

I have had nothing but duds (some faster than others) on nearly all electronics that I bought on this site. I finally resolved this problem by not buying electronics here anymore. I`d would not touch such an expensive item with a 10 mile pole, especially knowing that MD presumably offers a 30 day warranty. You know this shit will break after 32 days. If you have a good CC with extended warranty that will cover this purchase and you like to live on the edge, I suppose go for it. I, however, rather avoid the frustration despite how tempting it might be. There is the option to buy from B&H video with the smallest SD card possible (in case you have or want to buy a different type of card). This could lower upfront cost especially if you have a card already.

The biggest problem with this is it is only capable of accepting 128gd card? Its 4k wtf. There is no reason today to not be able to use a 512gb card. This is useless for someone who drives a lot.

lancerman001I have a samsung 128gb card in mine. It records about 11 hours of driving a day about 3 hours of small stops on top of the 11 (like 5-30mins, move a little bit stop move a little more stop, or just sitting) and then 10 hours in parking mode. All that said. I get right about 24 hours of recording before files are overwritten. More than enough for me. I have a 256 card on me i can format and see if it works but i just haven’t had the need to see if it works.

Is the powermagic pro hardwiring kit all I need to make this thing run as advertised and not have wires visible in my car? Do you install them both on or near the rearview mirror, so the rear facing one also sees some interior of the car?

captainI have the 1080p model of this with the powermagic pro. Not having wires visible depends on you running the wires under the headliner and plastic bits. The powermagic pro let's you hardwire the power directly in (like at the fuse box) to power so the cameras will run even when the car is not running. The powermagic pro is configurable to run for a set number of hours after the car is off and also will gracefully shutdown the cameras if your battery level drops too low so it will not drain the battery completely. I have one camera installed on the windshield behind the rearview mirror. The other is on the rear windshield. They provide ample wire for the rear camera so it can be placed in the rear of the vehicle.

Question: Does the Battery unit come with the complete sets of cables and not just Acc output socket? The picture only shows the Acc female socket plug. At the very least, we will need INPUT cable....Nowhere in the description says otherwise.

I've heard about no warranty - fine, saving $90 waiting months vs paying amazon and waiting days - cool, night vision is not infrared and requires a lit environment - okay.... The beeping while driving over small bumps or highway expansion joints - can that be turned off instead of lowering the volume? This is the only deterrent for me right now.

technahlogeeYou can edit the sound settings if you cinnect to it via wifi and then go into its settings. Only thing mine is set to say is parking mode on/off and collision detected during parking. And i have a very rough ride compared to regular cars considering i use this in my semi truck.

How hard is this to hardwire to a Subaru with power already to the rearview mirror?

captainI have installed 4 different dash cams on my cars. To best answer your question really depend on how good you are with splicing wires. If you google "subaru rear view mirror wiring diagram" You will find which wires you need to splice to the dash cam. If you don't care about parking mode, then your only concern are the Power and Ground wires. If you want to use parking mode, well...then it is probably best to wires them all the way to the fuse box, since you will need to have constant power wire connected as well. Personally, I recommend to just run the wires down to your fuse-box using tap-a-fuse. The wires are easy to hide and route and you avoid having to cut/splice wires to OEM wiring harness. Hope that helps.
