Dhill21i just hate partially serrated blade. my opinion: it's the worst of both worlds. i'd rather have full serrated or plain. Or compromise with a 150 grit edge finish.

method_burgerwell for a work knife (I work as a Harbor Peace Officer) the serrated is great for cutting line, zip ties etc, but a nice drop point (or spear or clip) is nice for defense if needed and I have to go through quite a bit of mail for my admin duties, which a pointy plain edge also makes the most sense. We do search and rescue and even the sharpest plain edge wont get through tough rope/line as fast as serrated, which bites into and saws away. But for this particular knife I dont find much use for serrations in a small knife. I carry the new benchmade tac triage for work.

Dhill21makes sense. do you use the plain edge for anything? or do you prefer full serrations? (if you had an option)

method_burgerWhat I may not have specified is that I use a combo edge for work, and the plain edge portion is perfect for office tasks and typically most full serrated knifes don’t make the best self defense knife as they more than often come with a sheepsfoot tip. That’s why I like the Benchmade tac triage, its got a little Bit of everything.
