Today I got my Native... and it's a FRN S110V :-)
So I actually couldn't complain...
BUT: Because MD put (like expected) the MSRP on the package, which is $190 for this version, I needed to pay additional 53€ (~$61) customs and fee... :-/
At least I didn't end up with S30V, but it's not that bargain I was hoping for...
Btw I didn't get any $10 back yet (paid via credit card...), but let's see.
All in all I'm a bit disappointed about how this whole story did end and how MD handled these massive issues regarding this drop! Probably my 10th drop and never had any complaints, but this was pretty questionable!

Philip_VIf you are in Canada, duties and taxes are only due on the amount you actually payed. The MSRP listed on the box is meaningless. Next time you order something, especially a blue box item, print out the MD/Paypal email invoice before you recieve the item, so you can prove what was actually payed.

KadosI'm in Germany... And as far as I know, I need to pay taxes and fees even for winnings and gifts, if they're sent by a company. And here the value counts, not what I've paid...
What sucks is that the MSRP and not a realistic retail price is the base for the calculation... In this case I needed to pay 8,5% of $190, because it's >150€, and additional 19% VAT. So I guess that European buyers can't safe much money at all at blue boxes...

Danke für das Angebot, aber ich habe meins schon wieder verkauft. Is bzw. war mein erstes Spyderco mit FRN Schalen und irgendwie taugen die mir net so wirklich...
Aber voll doof mit den Zollgebühren und dem UVP auf dem Paket, oder? Da lohnt sich so ne Lotterie hier leider dann nich mehr wirklich... Aber naja, spannend wars! ;-)

Philip_VOh, schade. Naja, so isses halt.
Die FRN Schalen und ich sind so ne Hassliebe. Einerseits so billig anmutend, andererseits können die mehr als sie scheinen. Und halt so leicht!
Ich weiß gar nicht mehr, was bei mir auf dem Paket stand, der Zoll hat ganz normal Einfuhr berechnet.
Ja, spannend war's! :)

Das stimmt, leicht sind sie! Aber ja, abgesehen vom grip fühlen die sich schon etwas billig an... Da bevorzuge ich dann G10 oder Ti.
Dann hast Du vermutlich auch 8,5%+19% auf den MSRP auf dem Paket, sprich bei Dir $239, gezahlt... Is halt ärgerlich, weil man umgerechnet 82€ für den drop gezahlt hat und so sogar nur 19% (auf 82€...) zahlen müsste. So hat das S110V mich 135€ gekostet und Dein Maxamet noch mehr...
Naja, so isses halt..! ;-)

Gar nicht, weil es eben irrelevant für den Zoll ist. Ich musste Abgaben und Steuern für den Wert, der auf den Papieren beim Paket ausgewiesen war, zahlen. Also für den MSRP (=UVP) von $190. D.h. so lange MD den MSRP angibt ist eigentlich egal, was man tatsächlich bezahlt hat...
