Yates57Delete please, they gave you a knife with a freebie. That wasn't good enough so they give you $10 off or your money back. After that still not being enough you have to come on here and complain some more. Massdrop and maybe anywhere without cave dwellers might not be the place for you.

GalvoAgI think he wanted the knife he paid for. For me the purpose of the drop was to be assured a certain type of steel. I already have enough knives with S30V.
Massdrop decided to act like this wasn‘t happening for almost a week and then issued the most robotic response possible; fine. I’m sure anyone that received a meaningful upgrade is perfectly happy with what happened here, but the rest of us are not.

MprimeWhich again is why they are offering a full refund or 10% off the original order price. That is standard retail practice and better than most, if that's not enough for you take a hike. You're not entitled to anything.

Everyone joined for a reason, whether it's for the adds or the base blade. At the end of the day lesser products were given to many. I see that many here are missing the point that there was radio silence for nearly a week and many are still yet to receive a response to refund requests made nearly a week ago. That "standard retail practice" sure does take some time to put together and relay to customers, huh? As for it being better than most, I don't quite get that. They gave the wrong product. For retailers it's either a correction, compensation, or refund. They're not going to just sit there and go "eh, tough shit" unless they want trouble. Nothing they are doing is special or abnormal in terms of 'solutions'.
I like the knife that I got, itll do everything I need it to, but it's not what I paid for so it's going back.... eventually...

GalvoAgLet's say you purchased a diamond ring from a company so you could propose to your gf. The company doesn't have any diamonds on hand, but they take your money anyway and a month later they send you a cubic zirconia ring.
It's ok though! You don't have any reason to be mad because after you complained... The company offered you a 10% refund off of the original price you paid or you can return it for a full refund! And who cares if you missed that huge diamond sale while the company had your money held up for a month.

FixallExcept this isn't a ring for a proposal just a knife... that's what I'm trying to say here. People acting like this is a ring for a proposal are a little out of whack, it's not that serious. They gave you two options, take it for 10% less or get a refund. This is not a life altering decision.

GalvoAgBecause it's the principal of the situation. Massdrop made a rather large mistake on this drop and it has not been handled in a timely or satisfactory manner (as demonstrated by the large volume of complaints). If Massdrop handles problems in a $90 drop like this, why wouldn't they handle a problem with a high value drop the exact same way?
Massdrop messed up big on this drop and should be taking a loss because of it. Instead they will still be making a profit because of all the people who don't want to go through the hassle of a refund or don't regularly visit the discussion boards of this site and may not yet even be aware that they received an inferior steel than they paid for.
Without repercussions what's to stop Massdrop from pulling this shit again?

GalvoAgClearly I'm in the minority here, but I gotta go with Galvo on this. Its seems to be a 'Mob' mentality going on here. I think if no one else knew that anyone else was complaining (i.e. this forum) then this would be a 'meh.. i'll keep it' or a ' Meh.. I'll take the refund" and that would be that. Next drop please.. :)

Yates57For $80 you got a knife that retails for $95 elsewhere (going forward all of the standard Native Vs will be S30) + a Sharpmaker that retails for $65.
So basically 50% off retail. Your call on whether to return but that's a damn good deal.
