really? blue on MD......... smh
Am I better off getting these or getting the bue yeti mic and blue lola headphones for 238 on amazon?
$550 for the Ella. For a set of planar magnetic cans that price point puts it up against some very stiff competition...

Yup... Audeze EL-8 is the 1st that come to mind for me.
In the dynamic section there is a lot of choice.
Hifi-Man offers a few headphones but, Open back.
I would be intrigued to try them tho, not counting these out. What turns me off is that I find the utterly UGLY....

Reminder: Ella has same driver as T50rp.
Wow, did not even plan to get these, but I googled them from here and freaking Walmart.com had one pair left for $76.88, so I snatched them. Hope they're worth it. I have AKG K712'S, 6XX, HE 598SE's, and a few more mid fi pairs. Hope these are a nice compliment, and get me to listen to something other than the K712's for a change..Also just ordered the 4xx, so hopefully a good summer of jamming awaits.

Well, I guess you might try the O2 amp that's offered here.
It's a very nice amplifier.

Still....80 bux is a steal!
Congrats!

Oh I already have an SMSL V2 DAC/AMP, also a Vali2, and a Fulla 2. Between those i should be good.
I have an org. run of the MOFI's the clamping force is rather strong, but other than that they are great set of headphones.
Question: Is the connection on the HP receptor (in the HP cup) 3.5" stereo? I just acquired an iOS-to-3.5 cable/mic/DAC that sounds great when jacked into the 3.5" receptor on the Oppo PM-3. Hoping it would work with one or more of these options.

3.5mm should work with the Blue Lola at least -- not familiar with the jack in the Mix-Fi (the MoFi, which it replaced, had a very proprietary, narrow 2.5mm jack that went into the headphone, Mix-Fi might have fixed that but not sure), and uncertain about the other models.

Thanks!
this is one of those things that are a cool concept but there is no posible way im spending money on it.
These sound nice BUT too heavy and feel it too.
They actually feel way heavier than 0.5kg
Mo-Fi are listed as "Also Great" along with the Oppo PM-3 and PSP M4U 1 for Wirecutter's Best Over-Ear Headphones. If trellus says Mo-Fi and Mix-Fi are the same, than it's a discount off Amazon prices (prices are listed in the article)

Not a good deal at all. I purchased a New Black Lola for $130 on Amazon last year
MusicLover
I agree. Got the Lola plus Yeti mic package from Amazon for $126 last Black Friday. Sold the mic on ebay for $85 so only $40 for the Lola in the end.
hideous ;-)
The Mix-Fis look so good I could overcharge to get them
Having owned the Lola (gave away as gift) and the MoFi (Mix-Fi is just a rebranded MoFi), I can say these are great headphones! Prices here aren't stellar, although a little (about $50) below current street prices for most of these models.
