Almost joined this drop, but I cruised Amazon first. The earstudio doesnt look as nice but it's 100X the device. dac is great (!) And the amp drives everything from my KZ S26 to the HE 4XX. Nicely. This could have replaced my Bifrost and Valhalla 2. Buy of the decade, guyz. Real deal.

WILLxLOVEI'm definitely saying buy the Earstudio. Either through Amazon or otherwise. My awe at it's abilities just grows. I'll be surprised if MD doesn't develop a relationship with them, so if you want to save a few bucks wait; if $15 doesn't matter or you really need a portable DAC/amp this is 100% the way to go. I could replace all my vintage Marantz and modern Schiit gear and still be ensconced in hifi heaven with this, my phone and my HE-4XX.

PaintcanwolfI was looking at Fiio Q5, IfI Bluetooth, Sabaj, just so many and prices all over the place making no definitive line to base anything off of with support actually being about the same (platform support anyway) so I've been all over the place... even considering stand alone players.

WILLxLOVEI have I guess five or six DAC's and a bunch of headlamps. This compares well with everything including my Valhalla 2, and only pales as a DAC when put up against my Bifrost Uber. As far as portables go, it blows all the Fiio's etc out of the water... and over BT, which I swore I would never use. It truly is an amazing device.

Paintcanwolfhey I don't think most of us would bother with a 3rd party site if we had $$$ to throw around. It's a surprise to me this sounds better to you than Fiio as they've probably received the most praise, but the reviews for the product you recommended are impressive so something has got to be right. Worse thing to happen is I return it, which I prob wont do.

WILLxLOVEI've bought and returned 2 Fiio's. Both sounded alright -- nothing gut-punching, but good-- but didn't play nice w my Note 8, especially w Spotify. I'm not afraid to admit that 80% of my music comes from there... yeah, 320 not lossless yadda yadda, but with a decent DAC sounds pretty good. I can't lug a 2285bd, Orbit Custom and my vinyl with me on the bus or to work. Neither with my now-battered cd collection. This little bugger lets me marry the convenience of streaming with truly hifi sound. Nice iem's or orthos. It's a benjamin of music-loving goodness, punching up at the $1000 sound level.

PaintcanwolfNo offense, but this thing does not have the grunt to push the HE4XX. At max, balanced, it's only outputting 2.2V. SE is 1.1V which is equivalent and below some cellphones. With most IEMs, I'm sure this would be fine but for many headphones they would be underpowered big time.

jaydunndidditNo offense taken. I just know what I hear through my HE-4XX's. Is it as powerful as my Valhalla 2? Nope, but it sounds nearly as good and I don't need maximum grunt when I'm on the go. Just a distortion-free signal with enough power to make me happy as I walk, work etc. No cell phone I've ever owned could ever come close. Maybe I need a different phone.

PaintcanwolfHello, yes Earstudio seems to be a well loved device and they have features that we don't offer like balanced out. I will not comment on what is best, that would be biased, but in term of the differences, what we have is much more output power, and the last Bluetooth 5.0 which at least theoretically makes the Get more future proof. Audio transmission may not use the full benefit of BT 5.0 but it a year or two down the line we may see great things in wireless audio and The Get will be ready for them

PaintcanwolfI have a GET, and saw but haven’t tried the Earstudio. The GET is very good, so it would be hard to justify saying the Earstudio could be 100x the device. The GET was an easily noticeable improvement over the Creative E3, and even a bit nicer than the E5 in a much smaller (and less expensive) package, which really impressed me. I also have many other DAC amps (I also have a Bifrost Uber! And Mojo, and Sennheiser HDV 820, and more), and I would make the same assertion about the GET that Paintcanwolf made about the Earstudio: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/bluewave-get-wireless-dac-amp/talk/2167272 It seems the GET and Earstudio are both currently the highlight devices for small, affordable, great sounding portable Bluetooth receivers. From what I’ve read (and heard from a friend that has both), the Earstudio has a quieter background noise for really sensitive IEMs, while the GET produces more power and is better suited if you want to use fullsized headphones. The range of Bluetooth 5 with my iPhone 8+ (which also has BT 5) is superThose are measurable differences. Personally, most of my headphones are fullsized, and the GET does a good job for music even against $100 wired setups. HD 650, HD 58X, HD 599, PXC 480, K712, K612, TH-X00, all of these sounded better than what I had come to expect from the ~$100 price point. The GET wasn’t quite enough on its own to supply a Fostex T50RP, but even so it did power that infamously hungry headphone better than my old iPhone 6S. Objectively, I feel the GET has some musicality “magic” compared to the sometimes flat and dull sound from my older budget amp/DACs.

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?

I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
