I'm very happy to announce that Massdrop and Blunt are now working together! The Metro and Classic are the two models that are the most highly rated in our polls. Our office staff has been testing out these umbrellas this Fall and have been thrilled with their performance. On my ten minute walk from the metro to our office, I see at least one (broken) umbrella left on a street corner or in a trash can, so the need for a more robust design is clear. There is no need for that when there is a better design.
This drop is unique in that it is being shown to the Mens Style and Ultralight Communities. We think it has broad appeal for it's looks and functionality. Obviously you can use an umbrella for your commute and travel, but did you know that a lot of backpackers use umbrellas in the wilderness? Yup! Check out Joe Brewer's recent Massdrop article on Umbrellas and Rain Skirts: https://www.massdrop.com/talk/965/on-umbrellas-and-rain-skirts-and-why-you-should-try-hiking-with-them
This umbrella may be on the heavy side for some ultralight backpackers, but I think this drop can plant the seed for a custom Massdrop x Blunt UL Umbrella. Same structural integrity, but with a lighter stem, a thick cork handle, a lighter natural color, and maybe reflective treatment (although this umbrella already blocks 90% of UV rays). What do you think?

DannyMilksYes please! The UL umbrella market could use a shake up and some fresh ideas.

DannyMilks Reflective treatment would be awesome. Dual purpose rain or shine.
