I'm generally not a fan of cheaper production companies like Boker, but I am smitten by this design; signed up immediately. Hopefully it's manufactured with decent quality.
IonicPulse??
You know Boker has 3 lines. The "Tree Brand " German Made knives are of exceptional quality and not cheap. The other 2 "Plus" & "Magnum" are China Made but the Plus is Mid-level and are very well made a VERY good Value and usually run in the $100-$200 range.
The "Made in China" stigma in the cutlery world is starting to diminish due to the modern state of the art manufacturing and quality control that is now the new trend there. My guess is this is a Boker Plus.
Honestly, It's the D2 steel that has me passing on this...Not Boker quality.
Hope you like it Ionic :)
Bob_VelleIm fairly sure that the plus line is made in Taiwan. I will be honest I'm not huge on the Boker knives ive had because they are not as high on the fit and finish as most other same priced knives I have but they are quite nice, and Taiwan is one of the best at manufacturing. Spyderco's best come from their taichung factory.
BenjaboolyAccording to Böker's web site, they are made in both China (mainland I assume) and Taiwan. So we're both right and lets leave it at that please.
wayneedIt is is a self governing Provence that it itself doesn't not want to be a part of china, china refuses to accept that its not a part of itself, and the rest of the world is afraid to chime in due to political balances trying to be kept in check.
wayneedIt is different but it also isn't. Manufacturing there in general is much better than the generalized Chinese manufacturing, but the really good Chinese company's like WE are still some of the best.
