What stainless steel is used when forging the Damascus? Is it also S35VN from Crucible? Leaning towards the carbon, but coco looks badass! Who doesn't love a $100 edc, made with premium steel!

DeanoDi RARELY ever see anyone advertise what two steels there Damascus are made out of. it most likely will need to stay away from water and need to be oiled with mineral oil or similar to keep from corrosion in humid climates.
but anyways, you simply need two pieces of steel that contrast each other strongly when etched, yet heat treat pretty similarly. The most common pair of steels is 1085 and 15n20.
and yes, S35VN is a crucible powdered steel. the heat treat is not the best it can be, being that its a production knife, but it should be adequate. mine exskelibur 1 is easy to sharpen, but i have diamond and ceramic stones, which make almost any steel easy to sharpen. ive had some chipping, but it was easy to sharpen out of the blade.
