It looks good but I would NOT buy it. Why? I have the Titanium framed Urban Trapper just like the ones sold here. It is well made, very lightweight, a nice gentlemans blade for edc. It has a really nice IKBS bearing system, Now the problem lies in that nice lightweight handle. it is made from TITANIUM. Sure its nice and light but Titanium wears down quickly when used as a frame lock , an integral part of the frame. I have had my Urban Trapper about 9 months (purchase elsewhere before MD put it up for sale) and it is loose and sloppy due to the frame wearing down badly. The wear borders on the unsafe and I would certainly never use it for much more than opening an occasional box at this point. I don't know if Boker's warranty covers wear like this. What I do know is that other manufacturers take precautions when dealing with wear on locks, especially when using lightweight metals on frame locks. I have a Lionsteel 4" aluminum framed knife and they put a replaceable stainless steel insert at the tip of the lock so that if you experience wear the knife does not become trash. They use the same replaceable lock tip on their titanium frame model of this knife I own. Now if anyone has has Boker replace the scales that have worn down for a low cost please let us know. As it stands I would not recommend that you buy a knife with a titanium frame lock, they wear at an alarming rate if you use a knife a lot.

trosaEverything you're saying is correct - that's why most makers do use a steel lockbar insert. Or, in this case, and others including some custom makers (like Jeff Park's Bones), the manufacturer carbidizes the end of the lockbar to harden it. As the titanium wears, it should engage the back of the blade with more lockup (travel further inward than when first purchased). If you're having issues with your Urban Trapper, it would be covered under Boker USA's warranty, and I would encourage you to take advantage of that. Post some pics if you have them, I'd be interested to see the extent of the issue you've described and imagine other members would be as well.

JonasHeinemanI don't think pictures would work because they cannot show how the lock works at this point. I will see about making a quick YouTube video tomorrow. I need an extra pair of hands.

trosaI received an email from a gentleman from Massdrop asking if I would not mind taking some pictures of my knife to substantiate my opinion regarding the high rate of wear I had on my Urban Trapper. I told him that photos would not work well and I needed some time to make a video. So tonight I made my YouTube debut. I know The audio is not great and I don't have a great speaking voice but here is a short video to demonstrate whats going on with the knife. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQZhqdy7srw If I make any other video I'll have to rig up a mic and get some sort of editing software to make things clearer. I hope it demonstrates the problem adequately

trosaHey this is super cool to setup an account and make a whole video about it. I tried to watch it on the plane but WiFi isn't quite good enough to stream so I will have to watch it and reply tomorrow, but wanted to say thanks and let you know I'm working on a reply ASAP. Will update this post when I have a chance this week. + 100 points for @trosa !
