The screws on this knife are crap. They are soft, small (T6) and not deep enough for even a quality WIHA bit to get good engagement. High chance they get stripped, so good luck trying to maintain this knife. There is awful lock stick that doesn't seem to be going away with use even with putting lead on the lock face. Just feels like a much cheaper knife than $90. I won't be trying out any more Boker Plus products. Too bad, with better quality this would be a nice little knife. I don't recommend this knife at this price point.

gustafariI have all the standard models of the Trapper series, including the Massdrop special, as well as several other Böker Plus knives. I agree fully on the crappy screws part, they strip easily and is from what I heard the result of not hardening the screws. Böker will however send new screws if needed for any warranty claims where the screws have for some reason caused the blade to fail.
BUT! The biggest but of them all actually. These have IKBS bearings, so taking one apart for "maintenance" is just a bad idea, and it's never ever required, instantly voids the warranty, and the ONLY reason I can think of for wanting to remove any of the screws, is to replace the clip or scales.
This is not a knife for any kind of heavy duty jobs, so doing something with it that requires maintenance by taking it apart is just "using it as it was not intended". Cleaning it does not require you to take it apart in any way, and I know hunters that used this model to open up small animals and had no problems cleaning it.
So I would disagree with you on the price and quality part since this is a titanium framelock with S35VN steel for ONLY $90. Tell me again how many models with that combination that actually costs less? The original FR model vith VG10 is actually more expensive.

FFMSThanks for the heads up on the screws. I've had to remove the scales to tighten the pivot because the blade was loosening up and becoming off center. Almost stripped each one with them being so soft and loctited. Also the lock stick just won't go away and is irritating.
I'm glad you like the knife. I would like it with hardened screws and no lock stick. As far as value, I would rather get a Kizer titanium flipper with S35vn that can be found at a similar price point. Aloha.
