Hey all, just received my tactical pen. The pen itself is great writes well and I'm enjoying it very much. However I did want to bring up one issue that came up. My order was shipped to Canada, and upon receiving it I was told that I had to pay an additional $19.10 in customs fees in order to receive my package. . I checked on the Massdrop website, and under the shipping heading in frequently asked questions, there is a small statement about how it is up to the importer i.e. customer to determine if there are any additional customs fees to be levied against you when you order your package. This is information that it not apparent unless you do some searching on the website.
So just a friendly heads up to my fellow Canucks: be prepared to have to pay more fees when your item passes through customs. As a result, all of the money I saved by joining the drop was spent on customs fees, and I saved no money using this service. I have 3 more items to be delivered to me, and if they also have extra fees attached, I'll have no choice but to use other services. I can honestly say this is the first time I have had to pay customs fees when having an online order shipped from the U.S.

labergeIt's up to the discretion of the customs agent wether to charge you duty on items shipped in. It's a coin toss really; of the 100's of thousands of items shipped across the border, I would imagine that a few thousand items are chosen to pay duty fees.
