Ayyyy all! I have a black anodized Boker Plus Tactical CAL .45 I got from a similar website to MD about two years ago, if you have any questions feel free to reply to this and I'll answer to the best of my ability. Mine was gritty when I first got it, but I disassembled it (a little difficult to re-install the first time), but it was intuitive and wasn't overly engineered. I shot it with some Hoppes #9 once and it worked great for a long while. I rotate it with my other EDC pens, but with pocket lint comes grit. Meh. My fingers are getting stronger.
After the first ink cartridge ran out, the cheapest replacements were like, >$1.50/ea, so I fashioned my own. I grab any click-to-operate ballpoint pen that will fit through the writing shaft and cut it down to the length of the original cartridge, then add a bit of tape to seal off the goopy ink. I've added new ink probably ... a dozen times now, and it works like a charm. I LOVE THE INTEGRAL CLIP, it grabs well, it never falls out of my pocket or my portfolio - warning though, it will not bend, so forget putting it on the clip of a clipboard/through any paper/folder you don't mind getting a 'dent' in.
I added a rubber gasket so it wouldn't unscrew the writing tip while carried. I also stretched the spring to lengthen it so it's a stronger, more satisfying bolt action. Both DIY bits work great. Overall, I love it. This Ti one is the same length (Boker makes two sizes, this is the smaller of the two), it fits well in my hand and I always get comments. (Usually to stop clicking it in a meeting or that it's too loud). Haters gonna hate.

KilsimivI feel like a pen this expensive shouldn't require the kind of work that you put into it to achieve what you achieved. It certainly sounds like a great design, but if you have to lubricate it and add a rubber gasket, I feel like it could probably use better QC at this price point.
