Hailed for its slim profile, ease of carry, and utility, the Boker Plus Urban Trapper is one of the most popular knives in the EDC community. But we knew you could make it even better. After two separate polls—one to choose the model and another to choose the colorway—we ended up with a truly unique folder. Available exclusively on Massdrop and limited to a maximum of 1,000 units, this community-designed version is made with premium S35VN stainless steel for better edge retention. And, thanks to your input, it features blue anodization on the titanium liners and black blade, giving the knife a distinctly stealthy aesthetic.
Note: This drop is limited to 1,000 units. Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
Designed by Brad Zinker, a voting member of the Knifemakers Guild, the Urban Trapper features a 3.5-inch blade, which is slim enough to get into tight spaces, but strong enough to handle demanding tasks. Outfitted with the IKBS (Ikoma Korth Bearing System), the knife deploys quickly and smoothly with a simple press on the flipper tab. And at less than 2 ounces, it goes virtually unnoticed in the pocket. The handle features G-10 scales for a secure grip, and a pocket clip provides convenient tip-up carry.
When Crucible Industries—one of the leading manufacturers of specialty steels for the cutlery industry—introduced CPM-S30V steel, it was praised as the most impressive blade steel ever created in terms of all-around performance. Its successor, CPM-S35VN, is 20 percent tougher thanks to the addition of niobium to its chemical composition. This Massdrop-exclusive folder boasts remarkable edge-holding ability and wear resistance, rivaling some of the most expensive blade steels on the market.
Invented in 2002 by knifemaker Flavio Ikoma and Rick Lala of Korth, the Ikoma Korth Bearing System revolutionized the opening mechanism of many EDC folders. Utilizing a cageless design, the system features loose ball bearings arranged in a small groove around a pivot bar and held in place with washers, eliminating blade play and allowing a smooth, fast action. Because the small bearings are inexpensive, the system is easy to maintain and replace, unlike many other opening mechanisms.
