Product Description
The Boker Plus FR is knifemaker Brad Zinker’s response to the EDC community’s call for a heftier version of the original Urban Trapper. While it measures just 6.5 inches long, this version is fit to handle tougher cutting tasks thanks to its more robust construction Read More

I bought this knife from another site and paid $20 more for it. Overall the fit and finish of mine is very nice. VG10 is a nice steal, the knife seams small but the blade is a perfect size for edc. It's lite, I hardly notice it at all when carrying. Only complaint is it doesn't open very quickly, the action is a little slow. Otherwise, great knife, very good looking, quality materials made in China keeps the price low.

First Boker purchase. Received mine this past Friday. Overall, pretty satisfied with the knife, though it is a little smaller than I was expecting. My two main complaints: 1) The assisted open is a little stiff, and so i have to flick my wrist a little to fully open it. 2) I'm right-handed and so I prefer to keep knives in my right pocket, but the pocket clip is on the wrong side for this. Not a big issue, just a personal preference.

Just received mine in the mail. Apparently there is no quality control on these knives. Blade is difficult to open, can feel grinding. After opening the knife 3-4 times there are visible scratches on the blade where it rubs against the titanium handle. I have the Urban Trapper and like the look of the cocobolo wood, but after something like this I probably wont be going back to Boker.

OchoTo anyone looking to buy a Boker knife from Massdrop or a Boker knife in general, don't. After paying $81.49 and receiving a faulty product, I'm being instructed to contact Boker, who wants an additional $14.95 for me to return their faulty product. This is absolutely horrible customer service. I will not be making any future Boker or Massdrop transactions.

OchoSorry to hear that your knife wasn't up to spec. We follow the guidelines that each vendor has in place for warranty, in this case customers are to be routed to Boker directly and follow the warranty process listed at BokerUSA.com . It's generally not possible for us to ship out replacements easily (because we don't carry inventory). However, I did as our factory rep about this and he's looking into whether this is the correct policy for obvious manufacturer defects. If you'd like to follow up on your support ticket, we can follow up with Boker again.

I'd be really interested in the titanium version, except for the fundamental change in the design of the scales.I'm afraid I'm not interested in scales full of holes, straight titanium versions of the scales on the wood / G10 / CF would be more my idea of a Ti 'gentleman's folder'. YMMV.
Thanks for offering this knife though, it's nice to see options like this being made available by MD. At risk of saying the same thing again - not all MD customers are in the USA, so the primary advantage of deals like this from MD is availability and willingness to ship to the rest of the world (knife and customs laws permitting).
Edit: I have a few Boker flippers and have generally been happy with the quality / features / price point. Mini Kwaiken has been an EDC for quite a while and also I've given them as gifts, and a full sized Kwaiken, plus a couple of others.

I got the wood version last time, I really like it. A little stockier than the urban trappers. Smooth opener. Easy to disassemble. The knife is compact when closed and once deployed the blade is bigger than you'd expect. I initially had some lock stick but it's gone after a couple weeks of applying Sharpie to appropriate spot on the lock face and using the knife regularly.

A few comments from someone who got the cocobolo flipper: The knife shipped as expected from a massdrop, and the blade was extremely sharp right out of the package. The quality of the blade metal is what you expect from Boker; high quality finish and fit. It has a great sturdy lockup, although the blade pivots quickly when you go to close, so keep your fingers out of the way!
My issues are that the metal that the rest of the knife is made from, including the pocket clip, appears to be stamped metal with no finish at all. There is also gapping between the flat boundary of the wood and the metal, about an eighth of an inch all around. To me, if you are going to sell a fine blade, but put it in a substandard finish handle, you are just going cheap. I think the price was fair, and I might customize this thing by taking it apart and polishing the metal bits up; maybe redoing the handle in bois d'arc wood that goes to the edge of the handle flats.
Take it easy, GMCPCS

I'm usually a little leery of Boker brands. Some of the early reviews of the Boker Zinker FR were a little disappointing in terms of fit and finish quality, but I really like the look of this knife. I was very pleased with the quality of the MassDrop Exclusive Urban Trapper from last year (blue ano with S35VN blade steel), so I jumped on this drop. I'd love to see a sprint run for this knife too. Maybe Boker takes a little more care with special runs than their routine production...

The Ti version seems to be slightly cheaper in BladeHQ ($102.95 vs $103.49 in MD). Plus free and faster shipping. http://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Plus-Brad-Zinker-FR-Frame--49095
The CF version is slightly costlier in BladeHQ ($122.95 vs $118.49 in MD). Shipping again is free and much faster. http://www.bladehq.com/item--Boker-Plus-Brad-Zinker-FR-Frame--49117
The Cocobolo and G10 are $94.95 and $89.95 in BladeHQ while they both are $83.49 in MD. http://www.bladehq.com/?search=brad+zinker
Compare with BladeHQ I'd say the Cocobolo would be the best MD deal, at least for US customers.
