This looks like a very good deal. curious though, I don't recall Boker having a factory in the USA??? Is Boker outsourcing the work to another manufacturer?? If so which one?

When I first ready about the Boker Patriot, I saw nothing compelling. When it was down to $50 on clearance, I bought one. It has been fairly impressive so far and better than the details would seem to show, The blade is slightly stiff when opening and it does not readily flip open. In use, this causes no problems. The scales have no liners at all, but the scales are very strong and really do not need liners. There are no washers or bushings in the pivot, which was one of the reasons I delayed my purchase. The blade pivots on disks molded into the scales And the design works. If the pivot areas actually wore out, I could add washers, but it is very unlikely. The thumb studs use a T6 torx and all the other screws are T8. My thumb stud screw was damaged, but they are easy enough to replace, which I did. The pocket clip is somewhat deep carry and is held by a single screw. It can be used for tip up carry right or left side. You need to make sure the clip is in the recessed area on the scale to ensure it is snugly in place. The thing that looks like a finger choil on the blade is too small for that use. I use it as a safe spot to catch the blade when I close the knife single handed. The blade uses 154CM, which I feel makes this a better knife than the Spyderco Delica base version, which uses Spyderco's softer version of VG-10. Lock up is very secure and this knife gets more pocket time than most of my knives. I definitely recommend the Boker Patriot as an every day carry (EDC) folding knife.
YEEEEEESSSSSS, I always wanted one of these. I've read mostly positive reviews, most people complain about it being stiff to open; not a flip open kinda knife and lockback being too hard. All online reviews I've seen are positive. This is the cheapest you will find this knife for at the moment.
specs not included: flat grind (sabre), no liners in frame, no bushings or bearings, German company designers, built by fox cutlery USA (Italian owned company).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybdrjso_5HQ see how it's disassembled side note: Yes, flat grinds are always better than hollow grinds in every category.
I stand by what I said. I've seen no difference in slicing food.

megical_bananaI find the Delica more fun, the Patriot seems to have no life, banal. (Yes, I am a Spyderco fanboy =))

No liner info included. From the pictures, it appears that the entire structure of the knife depends on the FRN handle material. While this seems unlikely, I suppose it is possible.

WBH_IowaMany knives have no liners with FRN, including the Cold Steel ProLite series. It is a very strong material and very stiff with this knife.

So where is this knife made? I found it very hard to tell from the description.

YogaBearThe blade is 154CM, which is an excellent steel. The scales are fiberglass reinforced nylon, which is very strong. The pocket clip, backlock and the screws are steel. It is a very simple and functional design.
