I'm confused. KYDEX is a great product to make knife sheaths out of and is pretty much continuously serviceable. (it's not leather, but doesn't cost what leather does, now does it?) it's pretty clear that the only sheath retention is from the choil being held between the two (four?) indentations near the opening. just re-heat the kydex with a heat gun and compress them further to maintain (or improve) retention of the knife.
