Since the M100s I got a few drops back are still part of this, thought I'd share the "creative" way I was able to use them. I reviewed them here a while back (not positively) but mentioned that they could be EQ'd to a much better sound. I later realized that they were essentially two headphones in one and that I could use them to demonstrate the difference between good and bad headphones. I played them for my wife in their unadjusted state, then in their EQ'd state, switching back and forth. She went from eye rolls with each new headphone to "can you get me a good pair, too?" YMMV
That headphones with good potential like these were tuned so poorly is head-slappingly crazy.
FWIW, I played with EQ until I found the best settings to my ears. Here's where I landed if any new M100 owners want to use this as a starting point to salvage the value of their blue box:
31hz +1 dB 62hz -1 125hz -4 250 hz -6 500hz - 3 1k 0 2k +1 4k +2 8k +3 16k +4
Leaves them a bit heavy on the lower bass, but that feels like where their strength is.

killmeI use a digital player with a 10-band equalizer to make these adjustments. The two I use are Media Monkey for Windows and Poweramp for Android, but there are others out there as well. Foobar (on Windows at least) has an even more precise EQ.
