Bought into this drop *just for the comply tips* which I planned on using on the stock earbuds that came with my Galaxy S5 (I love the inline controls and mic). Hell, Amazon wants $5-$7 just for the Comply tips (3 pair pack for $15 to $20), get a decent pair of buds for another $15?
I got the S5! I wasn't prepared to be blown away and I'm still not sure I am but they sound WAY better than my stock earbuds or any of the $20 drugstore pair I've tried. Love the "over-the-ear" design (was tempted by Mee M6 and family before this drop) and with the Comply tips they not only stay firmly in my ears but are very comfortable too.
Very nice on my phone, also used the included adapter and have been swapping back and forth between the S5 and my AKG K7XX (LOVE these!) out of an Audio-gd NFB-12 DAC/AMP. I don't like the sound out of the S5 as much as the K7XX but they certainly do pull their weight. Listening to Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters" album and keep forgetting to put the K7XX back on my head!
Thanks, Massdrop!!! :D

Oktyabrburn the s5's in for at least 20hrs, they will endup sounding better, and yeah open cans many times will sound better then IEM's.
the s5 is a huge step up from ANY drugstore iem's you will find.
hell they retail for 99.50.....
but, the jives also blow away anything in their price range from what i have read on headfi(the reviews are excellent)
also, just a suggestion but test the other tips, you may find (if they included hybrid style tips) that those sound better to you.
alot of iem lovers "tip roll" meaning try alot of tips to find what works/sounds best for them with each set of iem's and its a good idea, hybrid tips for me are as comfy as comply foams if the nozel isnt to be around.
over the ear is better when working, as they wont et pulled out as easy, and u wont hear the cable rubbing around. im hoping i get a set of s5's...got 2 bags coming.....eventually.

MrFlouThat's effectively how you do it, just have music constantly playing on it.

MrFlouas DoctorWhopper said, just play music at a mid volume level(not so loud ur gonna damage them, but not so quiet they wont get a workout)
burn-in is just letting them play for 20+hrs, some sets need over 100 to fully open up and show their best(jvc rx900's for example need ALOT of burnin but endup sounding ALOT better once burned in)
pretty much all dynamic drivers benefit from burn-in, BA's not so much in my exp....but dynamics like in this sale.....burn in is a must if you want them to sound their best. :)

UnaSalusVictusTips are a big one for me. I do heavy construction outdoors and the majority of foam earplugs irritate the inside of my ears, like an itchy, allergic reaction. Same with most of the silicon tips that come with IEMs so I feel lucky I don't have to wear them all day long (30 minutes to an hour is all I can tolerate). The Comply tips on the S5? I bet I left them in for at least two hours last night, after I got home from work. As I had hoped, they are MUCH nicer on my ears. That in a nutshell is why I've never spent serious $$$ on IEMs in the past, only over the ear headphones. Now that I know the Comply tips are OK for my use I might have to start looking how to up my game. Would love to find something with at least the SQ of the S5 but with inline controls for android, that I can get Comply tips for of course... Any suggestions?

OktyabrBased on my admittedly limited experience (Macaw 100s, sonys, and these brainwavz) I would think you can put the comply tips you now have on most any IEM

Oktyabryou can get complys for pretty much any iem they have sizes.
and most tips cause the same iching for me as you mention, hybrids do not, stock ETY tips once i remove the largest of the tri flanges do not.
the hybrid like tips mp4nation use on some brainwavz sets do need a wipe with an alcohol pad/swab but, they are the ONLY silicon tips that fit most sets that do not cause me any discomfort.
it depends on your price range and if you like bassy headphones or if you want max detail.
I would suggest if you want controls, consider http://theheadphonelist.com/headphone_review/etymotic-research-hf5-hf2-hf3/
they are IMHO the best option if you wana go for something thats a step or a few steps above what you have.
ety offer "gliders" (good foam tips that many say cause them no discomfort, the mediums the hf5 comes with are to large for me)
you can use comply tips with them, many do
the stock tip collection is excellent, ety supports excellent, and when you endup out of warranty ety offer a trade in program to get a sizeable discount on a new set of your choice :)
next down would be the MC from ety.
of sets that offer controls, there really arent alot of stellar options IMHO....mostly they put controls on lower end sets, the ety are on the other hand. excellent...i LOVE my hf5's and use them and my akg553pro (nice cans that on on drop regularly)
