They sound well, but they arent the most durable ones, the plastic of the headband gets spoiled aftr 1-2 years like the plastic is degrading itself and the headband is hard to find, there are other headbands compatible but since they cost like 30-4' usd sometimes is just better to get new headphones, i won't recommend the HM5 as a buy, they sound quite well for their price, but the headband quality isnt good

SnidelI used to disagree with you, but since Fischer discontinued the metal headband, it is hard to recommend this. That said, I have had mine for a couple of years and used them extensively, and only the pads show any signs of wear.

The_JniacMine came with replacements for the cups, but the band has at least 3 cracks and now only duct tape holds it. Anyway, about the sound its quite neutral and for the price i agree i haven't tried anything better sounding headphones

The_JniacI'd look at the NVX XPT 100, there are another Fischer clone, but I believe with metal in the headband. Plus they tend to go for $80

SnidelSo is it the headband itself or the gimbals that break? You can get plans to 3D print the gimbals. I'm not sure if it is 100% compatible with the HM5, but you can get replacement headbands for the NVX XPT100:

JamieNZYes that works, actually what got broken in my case was the piece that connected the brand and the cups of the headphones

JamieNZGimbals -they're made of a soft plastic that cracks over time. I've 3D printed them to replace my broken gimbals, but that's not a good sign that you need a backup plan before buying.

CheffyThat is the one major flaw in this family of headphones. Every single version of the Yoga CD 880 has this issue.
