FatfoxI couldn't wait for the drop so I got a used one off ebay. If I read it right this comes with the standard tube. I used this along with the K7XX. Granted, I was using these on an HP Chromebook, but I can't really tell the difference between with and without the amp. Without the amp I just turn the volume up on the Chromebook and it sounds the same. Are my ears broken or does the Chromebook just suck? Once Windows 10 finishes installing I'll try it on my fully set up desktop.

TemporarilyidleIf it's plugged in through the headphone jack, then it won't sound much better. The sound comes from the inferior headphone amp inside the laptop, so this amp has nothing to work with. Think about it! The best choice is to combine this with a USB DAC, which bypasses the laptop's sound system entirely.
