I guess it would be alright if you wanted to keep water hot. For the purpose of Gong Fu style brewing. Since it has no strainer. Pair with a brewing Gaiwan or like a Kamjove Press art tea brewer

Is it all stainless, even the bottom? To the point, will it work on an induction cooktop?

Albert.ATeapot or Teakettle? In a teapot you brew the tea, and in a teakettle you heat the water.
I don't know which one this is.

Albert.AAlbert is correct, this is a teapot not a teakettle. It is not for use on a stove top.
