Just when I thought that company couldn't go any lower.. And before the shitstorm starts remember it's a luxury watch, not something you put on a discount website.

iKnowThingsI'd buy a Rolex from Massdrop if the item was the same; MD is just saving you money. The quality is the same regardless of where it comes from.
iKnowThingscomplaining because nice things show up at a decent price? thats not really how you get more nice things to drop. and its not like theyre all of the sudden mass producing some special edition $100k tourbillon to sell for $1k here. selling 3 or 4 here is not going to ruin the companies luxury reputation.

radpoodleUsual thing when a drop comes out: the people who've bought the same or a similar item full price feel gutted when they see other people getting 40% cheaper. In the case of a Brietling, that calculates in thousands of USDs.
While I understand they don't feel great about it, the same situation would come if it were an exposed model in a shop going 30% off, or if I had a cousin working at Omega who could have them for 30% of their retail prices. The only thing MD does is make those "special opportunities" or "privileges" accessible to the mass, and I consider that a good thing!
Aleskbso do you have a cousin who can get 30% of omegas..... cause im much more of an omega guy than breitling! have been looking for an excuse to get another for a while now lol
and yeah, totally agree it is a good thing. im usually more happy to see others get a good deal. even if im a little salty that i didnt get it myself. im not mad at MD for offering something i already own for a better price though. seems silly. especially if the reason is simply because i personally think its "below the brand" or some such. thats just me though. if the quality is the same, i dont care if its on sale or whatever, why not be glad to pay a little less for exact same product?

radpoodleI don't have one, but a friend of mine wears a gorgeous Omega that he's had for the price of a nice Hamilton thanks to a family member of his working for the brand ;) Can't remember if cousin or uncle or what, but not first degree, not sure how they pulled that out but I want in also! :p
Well agreed on Omega. My grail watch will be one, can't think of a brand that represents everything I'd like to represent so well. Out of my reach for now though, hopefully one day! ;)
Aleskbmines just a basic seamaster i bought in 2007 or so, and after a recent servicing it looks and works good as new again. even after almost daily wear for nearly 10 years now. well worth the cost in my opinion. they really are great watches. so good luck with the saving up, i bet youll love it even more when you work for it! there is also a great second hand market for these to help make more affordable. and it is a large investment for "just a watch" either way, but i hope to someday have kids to pass it down to so if the thing could see 50 years of use or something id consider it a good one.
love my little Bond watch http://i.imgur.com/0Bc44fx.jpg http://i.imgur.com/IQEHg54.jpg

radpoodleIt's a beauty! I am indeed hoping to get my hands on a used basic vintage Omega from the 70s or 80s for less than 500 USD by the end of this year. It'll give me something to chew on until I manage to save enough for the real deal, an Omega of my choice!
In the meantime, I have to stay cool, as since January I've already bought a Seiko Sumo, a Seiko Alpinist (SARB017), and just joined the Glycine DC4 drop... If I continue this way, I'm gonna have my banker call to me to check what time it is!
