There's no disputing the fact that this is a very good price.
However, even though I collect watches, and have owned numerous expensive watches, and even though I've purchased many watches from Massdrop, I would not feel comfortable spending that much on *anything* offered on Massdrop...in particular not any any one watch. Massdrop is not an authorized dealer, so no manufacturer's warranty; they're not even a "real" watch vendor.
I don't recall seeing any comment or discussion on this admittedly petty detail...but I just can't get over the ridiculous way of describing these deals as "drops." Yes, nobody else seems to mind, and it seems to be Massdrop's marketing signature, but it rubs me the wrong way. Then again, who would have ever expected entities with names like Yahoo!, Google, and Apple would become such gargantuan and successful concerns. We live in a strange world.
But I'll keep on buying cheap watches under ~$600 from Massdrop, as long as they're bona fide great deals, which many of their watch "drops" are decidedly not.
cgalnyIts no different from buying from resellers or grey market dealers. Pros and cons I suppose. For some Breitlings are "affordables" (not me nor you from your comments).
arislanNot really. Most places will take a watch back or make it right. Massdrop appears to be saying on this drop, you are on your own, all sales final. Or am I misreading this?
Erik1It says all sales final to the vendor, but doesn't MD provide their own 30 day return policy as per their terms page when the manufacturer doesn't?
Assuming they do it isn't a big issue, for a watch this price, unless it is a replica, the first thing I do would be to bring it to the Breitling AD to service it to ensure authenticity within the 30 day policy.
arislanOk, thank you, that may be the solution. So anyone have experience with returns to Masdrop? I don't. It would be nice to have a statement on record that they will accept reetuns on these if not satisfied.
