I would NEVER spend this much on a greymarket watch, and one that doesn't have a manufacturer's warranty at that! Massdrop is asking you to take a hefty $3800 risk and expect to never see your money again.
I have a feeling that Massdrop does the Pontius Pilate thing... Arranges the sale, then wipes their hands clean of it😩

Mbotwhat exactly are you afraid of? if it's genuine, you'll still have a bunch of money overall even if you have to send it in for service.
i just don't get it...

MswmSwmsWMassdrop mentions nothing about WARRANTY!😩
Is Massdrop telling us to give them $3,800 for an item with no warranty, and an item that we have no idea where it came from?
You have to be kidding me. RISK RISK RISK

Mbotwtf, did you just read what i said? it is absolutely genuine, and selling for almost 2k more on other sites. so, even if you get it and it breaks in 6 months, you just pay to get it repaired at breitling. then, it'll have a warranty from them, and you don't have to worry anymore.
plus, you'll still be over 1k ahead.
what's the risk?

Mbothas massdrop ever sold counterfeit items? no.
have they sold stolen items? no.
have they sold dozens of breitlings here before in the last year? yes.
did any of those people have major issues with stolen or counterfeit watches? no.
so the risk is pretty minor, it would seem.

MswmSwmsWToo much risk!
This is not how sales should be done for such an expensive item. Over $500, and Manufacturer warranty is a must in my books.
Your ethos doesn't matter to me. The methodology here at Massdrop is dubious afaic.
Massdrop refuse to state the vendor, or how the watch is the genuine article, or supply a warranty. Unacceptable! Massdrop need to be more transparent, especially on an item of this magnitude & price.

Mbotlook, this thing has the in house b01 movement. you don't WANT anyone except breitling touching that watch, so massdrop offering a warranty would be a really bad idea l. why is it that you want a manufacturer's warranty so bad? what is the difference to you if you don't get it, spend 5k less than you works at a dealer, send it in to the manufacturer, pay for the repair, get a 1 year warranty after the repair, and still save money overall (in this case, several thousand dollars)
what is the value you see in having the manufacturer's warranty from the start?

MswmSwmsWAre you admitting that this Breitling is a b-grade reject off the assembly line, or that the movement doesn't fall within specification? It sounds like you are, you keep making excuses. On my ship... MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY, capiche?
And don't "look" me, and don't "tell" me anything!
$3,800 is A LOT of money. Obviously you think every second person in the West is a millionaire😩
Your ethos is not my cup of tea.

Mbotno, I'm saying nothing if the sort. but if it isn't a reject, then you'll have no problems for years, if it is and fails somehow in a year, you get it fixed and still come out way ahead.
so really, what if the advantage of paying 5k more for a factory warranty?
nothing that I'm saying is an excuse. it is the financial reality of this deal. it is an excellent value with enough of a buffer to still make it a great value even if it needs repair at some point.
i didn't say that you could afford it, or that most people could. i just listed the reasons that your risk assessment of the situation is way off.

phosfiendAre there any fuckwits dumb enough to spend $10,000 on a watch? Don't reply with the obvious, it's a rhetorical question🍭
Breitling is a scam, and don't talk to me about the movement inside, my Citizen Eco-drive is more accurate😆
This sale is only for the filthy rich! You won't ever catch me paying $3,800 on a greymarket product, no matter what.

MbotHey man, for what it’s worth, your concerns (hyperbole & vitriol notwithstanding) are totally valid feelings to have. It is risky!
But risk is a personal thing, you either are or are not comfortable with it in a given scenario. And that’s A OK, and you shouldn’t feel bad about it, and no-one should make you (I hope my comment wasn’t construed as such).
happy collecting!
your filthy, friendly (but not _too_ dumb) fuckwit

Right so this is Breitling's way of unloading stock and still making a killing. I get it.

I doubt this is coming from a dealer unloading stI know but I do wonder if these are refurb or serviced watches being resold. As long as its authentic (no reason to believe that it is not as massdrop is selling it) breitling Service as long as you pay for Service. It’s a fantastic price for a B01 movement. Since it’s being sold by massdrop I suspect this is old stock at least 5 years or more, especially if the warranty cards are hand written on breitling res compared to the electronic registration they have done for the past 5 years. I would want to know if the watch is old stock or refurbished. i know I’ve seen refurbished watches at some of the breitling factory stores.
Luxury watches are mostly hand made with thousands of parts and many hours of labor for one watch. That why they charge so much for them. So Mbot if it’s not worth it to u, it’s worth it to someone. If you’re talking about accuracy of time you might a well get a smart watch then since they link up with your phone that link to the service provider who syncs with the atomic clock.
there are more reasons for people to choose the watch they watch than just to tell time.

I'm actually not a big fan of breitling. I like one or two of their superocean lines. Play more the Ball, Rolex, Patek, Panerai, Zenith, Tudor... But I appreciate a nice watch when I see one.

MbotIt is obvious that you cannot afford a nice watch period, warranty or no warranty. So who cares what you think.
