I received two belts (black/brown) today and noticed something very odd. When the belt is used as a men's belt ( spare end on the left) the text on the inside of the belt is upside down. If worn as a women's belt (spare end on the right) printed text orientation is as it should be.
Since this is a men's belt it looks like a factory seconds to me.. One may say that I am nitpicking, but it left me doubting if this drop was dumping of the seconds to unsuspecting customers who thought they are getting a great discount on first quality. I would not buy a belt stamped upside down if buying in store, unless it was heavily discounted. Nothing wrong with factory seconds, as long as they are advertised as such and priced accordingly. So, I kind of feel bad.
Something to ponder before buying a higher priced item next time. Is a drop really a way to get a great deal or it is just another example of "if it is too good to be true"....
Please can you check the printing on your belt and report back?
TwireThe printing on my belt is also upside down when the spare end is on the left. I know nothing about belts, but as a computer programmer and UI designer I also oddly feel like this orientation makes sense - this orientation means that once you're done reading the text, inspecting the belt from the buckle to the spare end will go from left to right.
Even if the printing should be the other way around, I am satisfied as long as the printing is the only thing that's wrong.
TwireThe printing on my belt is "upside down" as you say... just like on every other one of my belts which come from a variety of places (Allen Edmonds, Bananan Republic, department stores). It is completely normal, if you bought this exact belt at Nordstrom or Amazon it would be the same thing.
TwireIs this isn't a classic example of a rich, pampered, 1st world whiner I don't know what is. Why don't you go volunteer in a soup kitchen or something.
"The text on the inside of the belt is upside down"... Good grief!
RaymondblThat's insightful Ray, but I don't know what your occupation has to do with it. In my long experience, Programmer/UI designers aren't magically possessed of any special wisdom or powers of observation.
"Belt-making Machine Operator" or "Men's Leather Accessory Buyer". If either of those was your occupation, I think you might go out of your way to mention it.
