I wonder if they addressed the quality issues since the last drop. None of the comments here seem to be addressed...
Commenting on this after a long time of use, and jesus do not buy this bag. Within about a week of owning it one of the magnetic clasps came off, and a month after that another one broke off as well. The leather is garbage, the twill is barely waxed (it is dry and doesn't repel water at all) which also gives it a really boring muted colour. There is nothing about the bag that says quality. Looks cool though?
Apparently one logo is not enough, they have to slap two on there
Received mine a while ago. I'd say it's very sturdy. But there are a few point that don't enjoy that much:
1. The strap can be uncomfortable if you don't wear extra layer;
2. The leather on the strap tend to peel off a bit. it just feels very dry and stiff;
3. The twill is very sturdy and I'm sure it'll last for a long time, but man it's also stiff. So stiff that I have difficulty tightening the opening.

I ended up only wear it once till now. Only if everything a little bit softer! Hopefully after I wear it a few more times it'll soften a bit and be easier to use.
Received my dark port ahead of time in good condition. However, the color looks way deeper than the picture and it's entirely purple instead of being slightly reddish.

Also, I just found this regarding the Halley Stevenson Waxed Twill used in the bag on another site which I think is intriguing: Halley Stevenson Waxed Twill (Waxed cotton impregnated with a paraffin from Halley Stevenson)
Is there any warranty on this product? I got it during the last drop. One of the straps is ripping off and will soon probably just come off completely. Any advice on repairing such a product or dealing with their customer care?

I ordered this bag last drop. I have had nothing but trouble with it. It is severely low quality and I was horrified about the quality of it. It looks great but the straps do NOT stay in place. The leather is of the lowest grade possible and you can tell because the straps are always shedding leather with daily wear. My old fjallraven bag was much more functional and better quality. I have pictures for proof of purchase and my experience with the bag. I've sworn off from buying anything from this company again.
I've had this since the first time it dropped on MD, back in the summer of 2015. I got the port. It gets a lot of compliments, and the canvas is good quality and ages nicely. When I got it I was pretty happy with it even though I faced the same problems that you did (straps won't stay in place, the burnishing keeps shedding -- the leather shedding problem stops after a while).

However as my knowledge of craftsmanship and leather has grown over time, I can now say that the craftsmanship on this is shoddy. The stitching on the top handle came loose and half the handle isn't stitched together anymore. The leather quality is cheap, as you noted. Probably Indian leather (made in India). Being from India, I know that the quality of bovine leather in India is NOT good because of the way they are raised. The leather straps have gone to the point where I need to readjust the straps before every wear -- they just won't stay in place. I've considered pinning the straps in place because of this.

Just yesterday, the magnet retainer on the front pocket came off, but I was able to affix it again. That said, overall I'd say my satisfaction with this product has declined over time, and I would not really recommend this to others if you want a top-notch bag.

HOWEVER, I don't know what other options there are in this price range. As I said, this bag does get a LOT of compliments, so there's that. YMMV but I would not buy this bag again if it were lost / stolen.
I've reached the same conclusion as you. With Nylon, it's just better to buy nylon backpacks unless you are willing to spend 400+ on a leather backpack.
I have this bag. Good quality. Only things that sorta sucks are the magnet buckles and the leather straps can be uncomfortable when not wearing extra layers.
I know it's silly to ask others, but which color do you think looks better, black or olive?
Depends what you wear it with, though I personally think the olive colorway has more depth and texture, and will add more to your outfits when you wear it.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, Tomas! Yeah I also think olive will add to the outfit as I seldom wear similar color top or bottom. Whereas I wear black quite often, black on black may look not as good.
This is a great rucksack but the lack of shoulder padding is nuts. I realize some people say it does not matter but I know does. A cheap fix but still the same design as last year. We shouldn't need to go "after market" for the fix.....BBCo. is aware of this so what's the problem?

Awaiting confirmation! We are still in contact with the vendor and just awaiting updated shipment estimates from them. We have a call scheduled for early next week and should get a bit more visibility in regards to when we can expect these in our warehouse.
