asdfmanI just sent an email to Massdrop too; I hope they can help. The waxed twill looks fantastic, but I wish full grain leather was used. Mine separated.

edit: Massdrop customer service reached out to me very quickly. Fingers crossed.
edit2: case closed and MD customer service gets high marks. The "leather" quality on the bag is thumbs down.
sudoFirst thing that I noticed when unwrapping was the superb quality of the waxed canvas. The second thing I noticed was the cheap top grain leather. Mixed emotions on this one.
Hiph-fuThis came so close to being great, but I travel a lot and know I would completely wear out top grain leather sooner than later. Don't want to think about what it would look like after a year of use. I ended up returning...
looking for something similar with full grain leather. I may have found something... but at a price.
sudoYea I think I'll be returning mine as well but dang that waxed canvas is nice. If only the leather was like on the Navali bags. Sudo what did you find? (nice name btw I'm a nix admin)
sudoThat looks like a solid choice for sure. I'm debating on this bag from Navali. I bought one of their messenger bags off of massdrop and it is of great quality, with full grain leather.
$1495 versus $836.50 (there are some nice & cheaper options too including waxed canvas)
* I almost went full crazy and bought this Coronado duffle. I may still regret not getting it but it seems slightly too small for my purposes. http://lodgegoods.com/products/coronado-horween-leather-boston-bag

* but I ended up going only half crazy and buying this Korchmar duffle in a darker pull up leather and a plaid lining not shown on their site, which is slightly larger than the Coronado but probably not as over-engineered. Allen Edmonds also sells some Korchmar duffles. Got mine for $518 shipped with coupon code Holiday2015 http://www.korchmar.com/index.php?level2=catalog&level3=item_detail&item_id=764

They also make this in waxed canvas. I called Korchmar and they were reluctant to let me know which tanneries they source from, but I *think* their pull up leather is Horween Dublin (same as Coronado) based on some of the verbiage used describing this bag. They only go so far as to say texas steer hide, oil (vegetable) tanned leather... all USA made. Their Twain duffle as they continue to call it seems to have evolved for the better over the years in terms of leather and provenance, so I'm pretty interested to see what I get next week.
sudoNice list! I'm a big fan of TBBC Langdale at this price point, but if you're looking for something that's an upgrade from it I recommend the Ernest Alexander Bedford. It's what I use :)
