Product Description
Though he's carved out a niche in the knife community with forward-thinking, aggressive blade profiles, Jason Brous takes a slight departure with the Bionic 2.0 (which may be why it’s his own EDC of choice). This Massdrop-exclusive version sports G-10 scales as opposed to the standard aluminum, making it even lighter and stronger than before Read More

The problem is that these massdrop exclusives tend to change colors when they get to your door.

I committed at $129.99 to get the G-10 handle version weighing just 2.4 ounces!
MD is the only source of the limited edtion G-10 Bionic.
This 3-inch version Bionic is the perfect size for pocket-carrying. The Bionic is a fast and fun flipper. As a bonus, it also opens manually, using your finger and the blade fuller.

The Bionic lists USA as country of origion. The Bionic 2.0 with aluminum scales has a street price of $189. G-10 scales would normally cost more than aluminum.
Other than blade shape, I don't see any similarity between the Titanium with Bohler steel Todd Begg Glimpse and the far cheaper but perfectly adequate material used in the Bionic.

Personally, assuming the quality is there, I don't think the price is outrageous. Not a screaming bargain, but depending on heat treat, fit and finish, etc. could be even a good deal. The design reminds me a bit of the Todd Begg Glimpse, which is well into crazy prices. I'm assuming this is made and assembled in China, but if not, I'd like to hear where it's made. I'm probably not going to be in on this, since I can't see this displacing my current EDC, the wonderfully solid ZT 0450.

enkidui have this blade, and the automatic version of this blade. And Jason Brous is a stickler for details. So i can tell you from personal use, this is a great price on this blade. I own 5 different Brous Blades, and there all high quality knives. I think his knives have some of the best heat treats. I can get any of his knives hair popping sharp by free handing them on a DMT stone. Im sure you wont be dissapointed in the knife, especially at that price point.

Brous products are nearly always overpriced for the materials involved. Jason also can be difficult to deal with, in my experience.
The original Bionic had lots of issues but sold like hotcakes after a favorable (paid, naturally) Youtube vid.
The Bionic 2 fixed those issues and has been a commercial success. And, yes, there are lower-priced alternatives with better steel and/or scales. That doesn't take anything away from the Bionic 2, which is a darn good product if you like 3-inch flippers. And I do.
If the G-10 version of the Bionic 2 has no teething problems like the original Bionic I would be tempted.

I agree with you and I am also the same the price is a bigger factor if the knife doesn't look as appealing to a person but if you were getting this same knife with titanium handles and s30v or better steel at this price I would still probably end up buying it. In this case I just don't want this knife the handle just looks too over done for me.

Their $100 are not all 700 series. 700 series is just their 2017 models. I will say that WE has way better fit and finish than Brous.
