I do not recommend, the connection between the mouthpiece and the brewer is not properly sealed on my bottle. So if you go for a sip even at as light angle it will drip out.

So once brewed do you have to take the lid off or is there a pass through to drink the coffee directly?

Got mine on Saturday. First use: today at work. Works great. I think I'm going to like this - a lot. Use it to prepare cold-brew coffee this summer - can't wait. And to PoekRose...when I joined the drop, I checked Amazon and they were selling for $36.99. So I saved a few shekels by ordering thru Massdrop. Either way, it's a good price - excellent quality item.

29.99+3.75 = $33.74 with a month lead time (and then shipping/logistics) Direct from Amazon = $33.99 with 2 day ship time I'll spend the extra $0.25 and get it on Monday.

this one looks better than the tea one, it's double wall and has a finer filter

Is this bottle also designed to brew tea?

delatiYou could try it for that but I think the filter is too fine for tea. Perhaps BRUMI has changeable filters for this model - I haven't checked - but that would be very cool if they did. Or some third-party has one.

FramerMCBI really like my BRUMI. I use it at work. I don't use it all the time but when I want a better cup of coffee than the free offerings at work, I pull out the BRUMI.

On a more serious note, these are way more useful for tea than for coffee and have been around forever. It's pretty great to be able to make and consume a nice cup of oolong anywhere you can scare up hot water.

Thank god the glass is BPA-free. Is it also Tiger-free? STD-free too?

PersonmanIs the cap made of BPA-free glass too? Or does that happen to be plastic?

PersonmanIt's only STD-free if you keep it washed after using...if you're using it outside of manufacturer design... ;-) I hear the only places you get them with the Tiger is in India or Sumatra - everywhere else is the Tiger-free version.
