Wow...you can walk into pretty much any sporting goods store or Wal-Mart in the entire COUNTRY and walk out with a Buck 110. There is literally no reason to join this drop.

KnifeGuyCheaper though. At least for the UK and Canada...

KnifeGuyActually... I take that back. If you bought the exact same 110 from Cabela's with the leather sheath it would cost you £59.99. So with this deal you save some cents....!

gjclaytonOuch. This knife runs $39.99 pretty much anywhere you go. The smaller knives can also be had cheaper elsewhere. Some days, I don't know what Massdrop is thinking. "Here's a SUPER common item that you can find anywhere....or you can get it more expensively through us, AND wait a month for it to ship. You in?"
Ha, no, no I'm not.

KnifeGuyThe 110 is available from the big box stores in the US for $40, but that's with a crappy nylon sheath and I think a different material for the scales. The leather sheath is an extra $15.
If you want the 112 (which in my opinion is a much more usable size knife), you won't find that kind of discount, because they don't sell in anywhere near the same volume.
It's not an "OMG I have to get this now" price, but if you're already looking for one it's a decent discount.
I'm probably going to get a couple of 112's at this price, tbh. The 110 series are easily the best folders you can buy for under $100, and like I said, you don't see discounts on Rangers too often. I'm wearing my dad's 40+ year old 112 right now. Buck's replaced the blade twice (for free, even though we told them that we did things with it that we probably shouldn't) and it's still as solid as the day he bought it.

KnifeGuyI'm having a hard time figuring this one out, too. Looks to me like Amazon has the same 110 for $41 -- and free one-day shipping if you've got Prime. Maybe I'm missing something ... https://www.amazon.com/Buck-Knives-110-Folding-Genuine/dp/B000EHYZKK

Chris_in_MDYeah, that's a good price, since it has the leather sheath.

KemikosThe nylon and leather sheathes are about the same in quality, that is to say, both are poor. I own several 110s, and the leather sheathe IS available with various models for the $40 price from places like Dick's or Academy. Every year, there's a special model sold around the holidays with the leather sheathe. The 50 year model was also available for $40 with a leather sheathe. Secondly, I would disagree that the 110 is the best folder available under $100. There are so many knives in that price range made of better materials, better blade-shapes, that don't weigh 17 lbs, etc. But of course, that discussion is outside of the realm of this thread.
I do have multiple 110s, and a couple 112s, but I don't carry any of them, because I have knives which are much better, and I don't belt-carry, so the 110 is out pretty much on that score alone. I bought them because they are beautiful knives, and I think that remains true.

KnifeGuyOf course I should have clarified that the "best knives" thing was my opinion based on how I use them and what I like (I mildly dislike "tactical"-styled knives for everyday use, for instance, despite owning dozens of them). You make good points and I'm glad there are better options I may not be aware of. I still maintain that it's going to be tough to find a knife that beats them for durability in a similar price range.
We agree that they're beautiful knives though. :)

Chris_in_MDSame, I can technically get this cheaper through MD, but for another $2 (amazon link with prime and tax) I can have this same knife/leather pouch by Monday
