KadosYep. Heck, I'd go for the standard 420HC for a couple $$ more. Buck does 420HC really well - I have 20+ year old Buck knives that have served me very well with that relatively cheap steel, and the blades are still in great shape.
GunsOfBrixtonThe only time 420j2 is adequate is on cheap dive/beach knives. I have one of these myself specifically only for beach days (I live about 5 mins away from the ocean)
GunsOfBrixtonPretty darn good. So far no sign of wear. I do regularly maintain my blades but these have never shown any corrosion dispite being dropped frequently in sand and forgettingit in the pocket in water sometimes. Just keep it cleaned after.
