Max Protection recently changed ownership FYI. That YouTube video that you have posted is a few years old and it was the result of a bad batch of sleeves that Max Protection had received and since rectified. The packaging on the sleeves in this drop is new packaging (showing it's a new batch and not the one reviewed). Most of the info and reviews that the professor is doing on Max product is product that is quite old (his latest on their double deck box is on a box that was produced in 2006). Just figured you'd want to be accurately informed. This is a pretty good deal.

MitchWxNo polls participated in, no drops signed up for, and one single post regarding some intimate details about Max Protection? Color me skeptical.

MitchWxSo what's changed in the production process from the batch reviewed by the Professor?

JimNThe tournament sleeves in the video are no longer produced. The batch of Alphas he has in the video came from a bad batch that Max got a few years ago that caused this issue where the adhesive wasn't great. In turn, causing the peeling or delamination. As for the other issue, with them going transparent on him? Nobody has been able to re-create that issue. Note that this was one of the first videos that the professor ever did and it kind of put him on the map as well. It's a bit curious...but take what you will from it. It's hard to address something that can't be recreated from anyone else. I don't know if the professor had something personal against Pat (the formal owner) or what but based on other videos that I have seen it seems like he does go out of his way to bash Max Protection. Note that Legion Supplies are made by the factory owned by the same family and same materials (not matte or double matte since Max doesn't produce) that makes Max Protection but you never see the professor go off on them. Who knows... I guess it makes for cheap entertainment or something.

MitchWxthats where you fail to make a point. the only good legion sleeves are the double matte art sleeves(earlier version). they are the only sleeves of the brand where there is good shuffle feel and durrability. their normal art sleeves get all grimy, worse than dragon shields, and dont hold up well. cheap entertainment? the professor does stretch tests to inform viewers of product quality. if he did this for just the fun of it, why did he even bother updating the newer batch of legions double mattes. durability was compromised by a lot and he wanted people to know that. he loved, LOVED, the double matte line, yet he was honest about the newer version. so im guessing he's bashing legion just because the product is legitimatly not as good. yeah, makes sense according to you

silverwordI won't argue your point. The double matte for legion are way better. I was only trying to say that Legion makes other product identical to that Max makes as well but it seems that only Max gets the heat from the professor and Legion gets off the hook. I just find it curious. Nothing more... Legion's double mattes are great and I'm not bad mouthing Legion one bit. We sell a ton of Legion, KMC, UP, Max whatever in our store. We push all the brands. I was only making a observation here. I just take anything I find on the internet and especially YouTube videos with a grain of salt. The professor isn't doing this for free. He's getting paid by Google based on ad clicks etc. There has to be a entertainment value there. His stuff is entertaining. I watch them too.

MitchWxThanks for engaging in this discussion! Have you thought about contacting TCC and asking for a re-review of the new product batches? He's done this with other products and been very good at not letting his previous gripes interfere with a new grade, and even given bonus points to the companies that reach out and actively try to improve their product for their customers.

JimNYes, the new owner has already reached out to him and they are setting up a meet up to discuss things. The new owner is being very proactive in trying to change the rep Max has and fix any issues that are present.
