God, Bulova used to be so good. This is terrible.

E.NormanWhat about this makes them "not good"? Have you seen their watches lately? They are well made, premium quality and look great. I believe the Accutron line carries the 'tuning fork' design was discontinued in 1977 and the symbol itself was discontinued in 2014. The company was bought by Citizen. Their "precisionist" quartz watches introduced a new standard in accuracy, with a smooth sweeping second hand unmateched by the best automatics.

daleskyYou get what you pay for. Obvisouly, I think the design is just horrific. But taste is very subjective. However, for this money, you cannot expect a very accurate automatic watch. Also, to go back to my point you are referring to, I think it's very sad when a company with such strong heritage completely looses their way in trying to redefine themselves. But once again, this is just my opinion. If you want a timepiece that you want to wear for many years to come, I wouldn't even glance toward Bulova's modern range.

E.NormanWith this drop you get quote a lot actually. Bulova is still making a high quality watch. Bear in mind that MSRP is a 'fake' number, and just consider this a high quality Japanese movement watch. High cost does not generally equal higher quality with watches, but often prestige brands are incorrectly felt to be worth their price. Consider a purchase of a Chinese watch movement made using German tooling, for under $50 delivered. I have a couple that are running very accurately after 20 years. I have Swiss made watches of that age that have not lasted as well. I see no reason to denigrate this watch at this price. A buyer will not be disappointed with the finish or accuracy.

E.NormanI've been wearing Bulova watches for almost 30 years now. They are just as accurate as my Tissot that cost nearly ten times as much. I think you may have mistaken Bulova with some other company.

PhilthOh, no doubt. I am wearing a chinese made watch, made on German equipment that is over 15 years old, and keeping very accurate time. Has complications for power reserve, gmt and date. I paid less than $ 30 for it.
