DicastesAlthough I have yet to receive another status update from the international shipping service my local shipping service seems to be delivering the package to me today! So I guess DHL just messed up with the tracking. Hope you'll get yours soon too!
XantariaBelgian order here. My tracking info updated for me too today, I had the package delivered a few moments ago. I didn't accept it because the tax had to be payed in cash.
Now hold on...
€124,86. Yup, that's right. I've payed a little under €200 for the order (shipping included), so this tax is more than 60% of the original value. I was prepared for it to be bad (maybe up to €100), but this is a little extreme for my taste. Apparently there's a chance I'll get another bill for 'customs formalities' in the coming weeks.
I can pick up the package at my local post office starting tomorrow, but I'm not sure whether I'll take it. If I refuse the package, it'll be sent back and I can request Massdrop for a refund (right, Massdrop?).
Xantaria and Dicastes, let me know how yours turn out!
SamDWI'm at work today so I can't take the package yet. I'll have to pick it up on Friday as there is a holiday on thursday. And 125€? That sounds like they took the original price of 500€. This is so stupid. I wonder if there is any chance to get this mistake fixed by showing them what you actually paid?
XantariaWell, according to the Massdrop help center: "For packages traveling through international customs, Massdrop provides a Harmonized Tariff Schedule Code (HTS Code), a description of the goods, and the value of the goods as paid by you."
Value of the goods << as paid by you >> are the keywords here. Besides, I've sent an email containing the receipt and PayPal payment confirmation to the customs office a couple weeks ago (read in a forum somewhere that always helps avoiding unwanted 'processing fees').
SamDWI received it, my neighbour actually took it and paid the tax. it was only 36€! I was really worried but it seems I got lucky... the watch is stunning
