Released in 2014, the Accutron II Moonview is Bulova’s follow-up to the original Accutron series. Released in 1960, the Accutron is considered one of the world’s first electronic watches, and its revolutionary tuning fork movement was used in NASA spacecraft of the era. The Accutron II Moonview pays tribute to its predecessor, not only through design but also through timekeeping technology. The watch is equipped with the company’s proprietary UHF (Ultra High Frequency) movement, a quartz movement that vibrates at 262 kilohertz: eight times faster than a standard two-prong crystal. Both completely silent and hyper-accurate, it’s engineered to provide a continuous smooth-sweeping second hand.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of eight different models. This drop is limited to 200 watches.
The Accutron II Moonview features a stationary coin-edge bezel, which is engraved with arabic numerals 1 through 12, with a half-hour hash marker between each numeral. The dial is appointed with large applied hour markers, which are lumed, and small applied minute markers, while a date window is situated at the 6 o’clock position. Though the mineral crystal is domed, it doesn’t distort the dial when viewed at an angle.
