Also, massive props to Massdrop. My local post office screwed up and returned the package, but the Massdrop people sorted things out and resent it. Impressive customer service!

Thanks again for joining this drop! We have submitted the group's order with the vendor for the Bulova Accutron II Spaceview Watch and they are working hard to prepare it for shipment.
As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 4/12.

Is the lug to lug really 21mm? That seems wrong. I want to order s strap, but 21 is such an odd size.

Hey Jeff, we just placed the order with the vendor so it'll take a bit of time for everything to go through our warehouse and then ship out to the group. However, we always do our best to update the community along the way with any progress we're informed of. Cheers!

Hey group, I spoke to the vendor and we were able to add a few more units of the 96A155! The two other gold styles are still available as well. Also, i'll be adding a day to the drop so that more people can get in on this drop. Cheers!

I think the description is pretty clear that the Accutron II series pays tribute to the old Accutron series - establishing a link in name, but not in form, since the original Accutron movement is not going to make a commercially viable comeback without an effort to innovate it to be on par with quartz movements in terms of accuracy and cost effectiveness to produce.
To dismiss the watch as solely a marketing gimmick would be to overlook the traits of the watch that might appeal to you - a quirky look, smooth sweeping hand, and arguably better accuracy (under favourable conditions) as compared to the standard fare currently available- traits that the original spaceview had during its time.
If you dislike it because it is absolutely nothing like the original, keep that view. For the rest who can comfortably afford something with a quirky look for daily use and want one, i'd suggest evaluating it to see if it fits your style before joining the drop.
