Just a quick review. I have used one of these for about five years in my front yard. I have one white oak but other tree close by. Overall it's a great set up and the build quality goes some of the way towards satisfying the aggregate cost of materials argument. I sunk the anchoring rod into concrete since the position was going to be the same all the time and that has worked well. I am glad I paid more that this price years ago and would buy it again now.
This stand looks great, but the preview images are driving me nuts. In the images where you have a clear view of the ground anchor it's at the wrong angle. If you put it in the ground like that it'd be pulled out the second you tried to get into the hammock. (maybe even just from the weight of the hammock alone)
The anchor goes in vertically, or at an angle towards what it's anchoring so when tension is put on the line it's trying to come out of the ground sideways.
Here, this video should explain everything.

I only have a couple trees in my yard and none of them are close enough to one another to hang my hammock. I've read good reviews on this and can't wait to use it with my new hammock this summer!
