As they say, you get what you pay for. This is an entry level hammock at best. I am an AVID hammock camper who camps year round in my hammock. I bought this for my son. It is a short hammock that is not very wide, which reduces the ability to lay off center to assist in flat lay. There is no Ridge line, also hindering the ability to flat lay. The bug netting is poor quality and easily tears and suseptable to pulls by velcro. The suspension system also needs to be revisited by designer. I do not expect this hammock to last one 7 day camping trip. For the cost, it is fine to take naps in, out in your back yard, from a rack.
LtJKWranglerThe new version is 116"x56".
The only ridge line included with this hammock is for the mosquito net. The mosquito net is the same quality as any other on the market and requires a certain level of care. Yes you should be very careful with the material, but that is like any mosquito netting.
The suspension system has been removed with this new version.
Did you have quality issues or failures with your sons hammock?
