Where is this hammock made?
Also what's this talk of the hammock not coming with a "integrated hanging system"? Does that mean it doesn't come with the nylon rope that is shown in the picutures and I would have to buy some rope of my own and maybe a carbiner to hang it?
IhikeAlotThe hammock is made in China. Byer of Maine was one of the first companies to market the lightweight parachute nylon hammocks in the US. Byer is the North American distributor for Amazonas, a German company who has been selling these hammocks for over 20 years. Byer is not a new start up company that just went to China and picked a factory out of a hat to make a hammock. Byer will stand behind the product no matter where it is made, as they have with all products shipped from Maine since 1880.
The hammock no longer comes with the rope hang system. Even though when used responsibly the ropes are absolutely reasonable, due to some negative consumer feedback about the ropes causing damage to the trees, the ropes have been removed. There is a new strap hang system called the Micro Strap. The Micro Strap hang system is available as an add on to this drop at a great price, don't pass it up.
