Checking back in with you all for a correction of my last post. There was a shipping error made at our vendor's warehouse, and our entire order is still at their facility. In the interest of getting your products to you ASAP, the vendor has agreed to dropship this order. Expect everything to be shipped out to you all within the next couple of days.
Expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 6/18 or sooner if something comes up.

Great news! The drop was successful and we’ve just placed the group’s order with the vendor for the CAD Audio Acousti-Shield AS32. Currently they are working hard to prepare the shipment so that when we receive it at our New Jersey warehouse we can easily separate everything and send the individual orders out to you all! We expect the ship date from our warehouse to be 6/9.
Meanwhile, we’ll update the group with any news about order status once we receive that information from the vendor. You can look forward to another update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 6/9. Thanks again for being a part of this community!

Hoping this will help my podcast slightly as I can't treat the room I'm currently recording in.

It has been my experience that no matter how well treated a room may or may not be, there will always arise a situation for a particular piece of gear.
An acoustic shield does just what it says; it protects the acoustic integrity of what the microphone is receiving. Every vocalist and every style of music and every recording session is different. Even in the best room, with optimal sound reinforcement, there can be situations where extra isolation is called for. If the vocalist uses more soft tones, whispers and ambiance in their voice for instance. If the application is spoken word, for voice-overs or dialogue perhaps, then these AS32's are great. They will increase the articulation of the your speaker while providing a more flat-response recording.
These are just my opinions on a few applications of the AS32, there are plenty more. For recording brass and woodwind instruments, the AS32 Acoustic Shield would definitely have a place as well.
Thank you for participating in the discussion and for being a part of Massdrop.

This may help add some 'dryness' to your recordings when used properly. But it is not a substitute for a properly treated space.

Anyone used it and can compare it to other solutions? This might make an awesome gift for a podcaster I associate with.
