Condenser microphones don't break "easily". They aren't rugged the way a Shure SM-57 or -58 might be, but the body and headbasket are metal and are sturdy enough for normal usage.
This pack does not appear to come with an XLR cable.
I bought a GXL2200 because the components are still through-hole, making it a good platform to practice mods on. There is very little self-noise. It does have the typical Chinese mic treble boost, but that can be just fine for some applications - e.g. it's great for recording acoustic guitar. Swap out the capsule for an RK-47 and you've got a mic with a much more natural/neutral character.
I just got the Scarlett 2i2 from the last drop so that I can record in stereo and whaddayaknow, here's a great deal on a set of mic's... hmmm....
