The system consists of two satellite speakers with 2" drivers, a subwoofer with a 5.25" woofer, and a desktop control hub. After a simple set-up, plug into your computer with the included USB cord or your smart phone through the 1/8” input, all via the desktop control hub. Whereas most 2.1 systems require you to reach under your desk every time you want to add headphones or adjust sources, the handy control module keeps the full range of function at your fingertips.
DAC Attack
Instead of relying on your computer’s default DAC, the M5 features a higher grade standalone DAC that optimizes all of your output. The resulting range is lush all around, with solid highs, a strong midrange, and a smooth low end. While the bass won’t rock your face off, it more than gets the job done. For a system that remains unobtrusive and comes at a bargain, Cambridge Audio Minx M5 Multimedia Speakers put out impressively powerful sound.
