This is an enthusiast driven site, right? So why even list this landfill queen? Canon makes some intriguing fixed lens boxes. Their SLR offerings are more mass market than enthusiast.
Let’s see some rangefinders. Some physics-defying large-sensor-in-a-pocket-box cameras. Some medium format film stuff. Some obscure cheap Chinese TLR that makes amazing images practically for free.
There are more interesting pic makers out there than you can shake a stick at, and you give us this?

Photography has been a hobby of mine for a few years. I bought this camera a while back at a garage sale for $100, and although I've had the means to upgrade the body, I've really only been spending money on lenses. I absolutely love this thing. It takes some really fantastic pictures as long as you know what your doing. The auto mode leaves a little to be desired but as long as you run it in one of the manual settings the pictures are really nice. I'll put some examples of what I've done with it as well. The only things that might want you to upgrade are that it can't take video and the max ISO is 1600.
some examples, if your looking for a nice camera to start with and don't want to break the bank, this is a great place to start. Just keep in mind it does not take video.

I wouldn't pay more than $50 for this at a flea market.
Your iPhone has more megapixels.

A skilled photographer can take better photos than an amateur with an iPhone.
We can argue back and forth about specs but that is besides the point.
What matters here is that people who aren't familiar with Canon's product line might be misled into thinking this is a decent deal on a recent camera. They would be better served spending a bit more for a T6 with the same lens.

However, people shouldn't just buy without looking into things. It's their fault if they buy this thinking it's recent without having done any research on it.

This is a decade old (released 2008!) SLR... considering I've seen Rebel T5 two lens kits going for about $400 new, this is honestly a pretty appalling "deal." If you're looking for a budget DSLR style camera, a Nikon D3300/3400 or Canon Rebel T5 would be a much better entry for not much money, and mirrorless options such as an Olympus E-M10ii refurb would be as well. There are reputable used vendors that sell more recent bodies in this series for less, as well - if you're hard set on getting a Canon DSLR.
With a more modern body, you'll get better high ISO, better base ISO dynamic range (fewer blown out skies), better AF, better burst rates, and video - this body doesn't even support video recording at all.
Additionally, Canon crop is 1.6x, not 1.5x.
I'd have to call this a hard pass this time.
