Ugh only 8x10s as the max? Can anyone recommended a nice photo inkjet that can print 11x14 borderless?

Really, a printer? At least if it was as a laser printer it would be worth looking at. These printers will work for, sure, but the ink is expensive and unless you print DAILY the printheads will clog and burn to death. Just a huge money eating hole. Epson printers cost more but can't burn themselves out, so they also last longer as long as you avoid clogs. Maybe look into refilling and color profiling services if you want a Canon printer since they use so much ink.

Unfortunately, even Epson's Ecotank series tends to have lower quality prints. For home use they are okay but it depends. It's still a good idea to have a profile made if you plan on printing photos you consider very important so the colors look nice.

JeremyB796I can't speak of this printer but, we've had a HP inkjet printer for about 5 years now and have had zero problems. We haven't had any clogs, jams, or printhead issues; and the printer can spend an extended period completely unused before getting hammered (every couple months we have to print ~300 sheets in a day). It's also proven to be cheaper to run than our previous laser printer, and ink loss over time has been negligible.

You have to order ink refills from Canon directly online or through Amazon and they are EXPENSIVE! Worse, Canon stopped supporting the Mac operating system for their Pixma printer line. They don't tell you that here. BEWARE! By the way, I own and use two Pixma printers but because of the Mac issue, I recently purchased another brand for my general printing needs.

Great printer, takes 6 ink tanks that are pretty dense for their size, the ink doesn't seem to dry out like other brands, you can use the ink all the way until its actually empty, photos are absolutely perfect, the size is pretty good, the screen is quite large, the software is alright once set up, the rear tray is perfect for thick paper or photo paper, and for $73 its a great deal. It does come with some ink to start but consider getting more with it (which does cost more than the printer, keep that in mind).

I have had countless issues with the software on my one and printing is never straight forward. Not recommended.

I have this printer and I have to say it's pretty good. The photo printing is excellent and it's good for documents. The scanning is a bit odd with how it works with the desktop software, but it works easily enough. At $75, this is a no brainer. I got mine on sale at Best Buy for like $140 or something and was totally happy.
