ShugPersonally, I don't disagree, but oddly enough, there are 2-3 highly accomplished long-distance hikers that I follow who prefer cotton. At least one is a minimalist who gets his shirts from the thrift store. And these guys generally hike in areas of lower humidity than I experience here in the East. Natural fibers like cotton and wool stink less after long spells without washing too.
Brett919Sounds like Neemor and John Z! I know John Z wears cotton, which is okay for desert and low humidity hikes. But, yes, here in the East, I can't imagine wearing a long sleeve cotton shirt for long hikes or backpacking.
ShugI would think this is made more for super low-exertion activities like fishing or travel (though I'd typically go for merino over cotton there). I agree that making the armpit fabric green was a questionable choice.
