I wish I had a reason to write often enough to justify learning a fountain pen just to use some of these inks; they are gorgeous! More power to the folks who jump in on this.

anroThere's not really anything to "learn" - Just buy a pen and write! :)
The variety of inks is definitely one of the appeals for fountain pens.

anroI agree with kannasama, there isn't anything to learn (unless you want to get into improving your handwriting drastically and calligraphy and such...), I have several beautiful fountain pens and love the way they write, the variety of inks, and honestly just that each is a piece of art.
However, be warned, this is a black hole, money pit of a hobby just like so many others.
