CarbonTacticsI am wondering about the rigidity of single layer vs double?? I definitely want my belt to last, and not start "snaking" when it comes off from wearing my IWB CCW, Holstered multi-tool, holstered flashlight, holstered smartphones, & even a few chain-dangle items like small cell flashlights, Firestarter, Swiss army knife, etc... I think double layer and I think "Duty belt" (holding 30oz. Canteens and dump pouches with 6pk fully loaded AR-30rd-Mags Holstered, on top of what I mentioned and then an OWB paddle Holster with full size Duty pistol as well... I would like to get away with a single layer (my current gun-belt is leather with steel core, and after 18 mos. Absolutely no "snaking"/sagging/dipping of my belt when taken off - it still looks practically new), but I certainly don't want it to deform after a few months because I carry a little more than a minimalist... I have been looking into getting a nylon mech-buckled belt like this for a couple weeks, for a change of pace from my leather one - possibly even convert (I have even looked at Carbon Tactics website for serious consideration), but this is a good deal to see if the belt will work for me, and if satisfied, maybe upgrade to something a little more customized through the website?? Can anyone provide me with some details/testimonials/examples of load-outs on single vs. double layered, that may help sway me into joining this drop (it would be for Wolf Gray I am sure)...
SiggystyleHi Siggy, thank you for the question. Based on what you want to do with it, I recommend the double-layer option. It's more rigid than the single layer, so it's more ideal for holstering any kind of firearm. For just carrying a flashlight, knife etc, the single layer is fine, but for a firearm, I think it's worth getting the extra rigidity. Maybe someone else can chime in, but personally I think the double-layer strap is no less comfortable than the single (after you wear it for a couple days), so I don't think that should be a big factor in your decision. It isn't ridiculously rigid, just enough to keep your gear from sagging or twisting should you need to get to it quickly.
Let me know if you have any other questions :)

CarbonTacticsInterested in single layer. Size 36 jeans. Regular says 38 but pants 34 ?? Do I need Regular or Large? Thanks
DeezulI would go with a size Large because you are on the edge between to the two sizes. You can always trim the single-layer strap shorter with scissors if needed. Then lightly melt the cut end with a lighter to prevent fraying. Let me know if you have any other questions!

CarbonTacticsHey Mike, thanks for your response... You are probably right to suggest the double layer (based on what I stated for my needs), I guess I was just stuck in wishful thinking... Let me ask you this though, if I went with the double layer belt, would I be able to purchase a single layer belt (possibly a different color) on the website?? I know that the buckles are not sold individually (or at least I don't think they are??), but what about the belt-straps?? Also, in this drop, are the belt-strap layers and colors the only options for us to customize (aside from the sizing, obviously)?? Is the single black cobra buckle the only option for this drop?? I was also thinking about sizing, because from what I have been reading, I think that I be right on the threshold between sizes?? I wear a 36W but it fits my waist with a little room, so that I can use a belt when IWB Carrying (and still not be too snug)... with this, I would still be able to IWB other items if needed too.. Do you what length of belt strap would be ideal for someone that wears a typical 36W (and with this size is able to IWB Carry)?? With the double layer belt strap, can you quote the thickness of the double layer (not the 1.5" width obviously)?? I wonder if there would be a concern about using holsters that clip on or feed through leather or nylon cutouts for holster carrying?? Would most "plastic" j-clips and c-clips fit properly if sized at 1.5" (and what about clip on holsters like for a smartphone case - think Otterbox Defender)... Sorry to drop all of these bombs on you, Mike, but if you could clarify even a few of them, it would help my decision making process... Purchasing certain items on the internet always does this to me, but there are some really good deals that can help justify the risk, in most cases!!
