These guys should have ponied up and included a plastic enclosure for these boards. I would not want the bare particle boards in the footwell by my or my passengers feet to get kicked and touched, exposed to moisture, etc, without some kind of protection. Kind of amateurish.

DPetrilloHey there! Thanks for bringing this up. We brainstormed many times about making a very simple enclosure. In the end, we decided to keep it simple and easy to use as a hacking tool. For example if you want to add an accelerometer, a GPS, or LED, you can use the secondary row of headers. The end goal is to make it as open and hacker friendly as possible.
Would love to hear your input on our forum: community.carloop.io on what would a case/enclosure look like.
