Born in 1942 in São João de Madeira, Portugal, Carlos Santos has grown to become one of the most respected European shoemakers out there. It’s named for its founder, who took his first steps in business at the young age of 14. And if you’re a fan of men’s luxury footwear, it’s one of those brands that needs no introduction. Displaying the craftsmanship the company is known for, these captoe Oxfords are as classic as they come. They’re made one pair at a time and patinated by hand, creating subtleties from one pair to the next. The leather calls for a gentle wax-based cream or polish only, as solvent-based products may strip the finish. The shoes are built on the true-to-size Z401 last and Goodyear welted for easy resoling.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of seven colors in men’s UK 6–12 (full and half sizes available) or 13. For an additional $80, you can add a matching belt.
